The Target Format Question

Before comparing prices, confirm which QuickBooks you use:

  • QuickBooks Desktop (Pro/Premier/Enterprise): Needs IIF format — that's us
  • QuickBooks Online: Needs QBO web connect format — that's ProperSoft

ProperSoft doesn't create IIF files. We don't create QBO web connect files. Make sure you're comparing tools for the right target.

Which Should You Choose?

Choose ProperSoft if: You use QuickBooks Online (not Desktop). You need to convert PDF bank statements. You want a desktop app with transaction editor. You prefer one-time purchase for frequent use.
Choose SpreadsheetBroccoli if: You use QuickBooks Desktop (Pro/Premier/Enterprise). You want to convert OFX, CSV, or Excel to IIF. You prefer browser-based with no installation. You want pay-per-use for occasional conversions. You want to try before paying anything.

About PDF Statement Conversion

ProperSoft's PDF2QBO can extract transactions from PDF bank statements. We don't support PDF input — you'll need to download OFX/QFX from your bank or export CSV from online banking.

PDF Conversion Tip Most banks offer OFX/QFX downloads going back 18-24 months. Only use PDF conversion for older statements not available in electronic format. Electronic downloads are more accurate than PDF extraction.
