Why Convert QFX to CSV for QuickBooks Online?
Migrating from Quicken to QuickBooks Online
QFX is Quicken's proprietary version of the OFX format. While both Quicken and QuickBooks use transaction files, they're not directly compatible:
- Format differences: QFX has Quicken-specific headers (INTU.BID) that QBO doesn't recognize
- Manual import required: QBO only accepts CSV for manual uploads, not QFX
- Historical data: When switching from Quicken to QBO, you need to import past transactions
- Closed accounts: QFX files from accounts no longer connected
