How to Export Invoice Export from QuickBooks Online (2026 Guide)

Follow these steps to export your QuickBooks Online invoice export as a CSV file. Once exported, you can use any of our converter tools to transform the data for your target system.

Export Steps

1

Log in to QuickBooks Online

Open your browser and navigate to qbo.intuit.com. Sign in with your Intuit account credentials. You need at least the Sales and Reports view permissions to access invoice data and run the necessary reports.

2

Navigate to the Reports section

From the left-hand navigation menu, click on Reports. This opens the Reports center where you can search for and run various financial and sales reports. The search bar at the top lets you quickly find the report you need.

3

Open the Invoice List report

In the search box at the top of the Reports page, type Invoice List and click on the matching result. This report shows all your invoices with details like invoice number, date, customer, amounts, and status. By default it shows invoices for the current fiscal year.

Tip: If you need line-item detail (individual products per invoice), search for Transaction List by Date instead and filter by Transaction Type equals Invoice. This gives you one row per line item rather than one row per invoice.
4

Set the date range

At the top of the report, use the date range selector to set the time period you want to export. You can choose from preset ranges like This Month, Last Quarter, or This Fiscal Year, or enter custom start and end dates. Click Run Report to refresh the data with your selected range.

5

Customize the report columns (optional)

Click the Customize button to add or remove columns from the report. For a complete invoice export, consider including columns for invoice number, date, due date, customer, product/service, quantity, rate, amount, tax, and status. Click Run Report after making your changes.

6

Export to Excel

Once the report displays the data you need, click the Export icon in the top-right corner (a box with an upward arrow). Select Export to Excel from the dropdown. The file will download to your default downloads folder as an Excel workbook.

Warning: QuickBooks Online exports reports in Excel format, not CSV. You will need to convert to CSV in the next step if your target tool requires that format.
7

Alternative: Export from the Sales Transactions page

You can also export invoices by going to Sales then All Sales from the left menu. Use the filter dropdown to select Invoices as the transaction type and set your date range. Then click the Export icon above the Action column to download the filtered list to Excel.

8

Convert to CSV and review

Open the downloaded Excel file and save it as CSV using File then Save As. Review the data to confirm all invoices are present and that amounts, dates, and customer names look correct. If you used the Transaction List report, each row represents a line item and invoices with multiple items will span multiple rows. The file is now ready for our converter tool.
