How to Export Transactions from Venmo (2026 Guide)

Follow these steps to export your Venmo transactions as a CSV file. Once exported, you can use any of our converter tools to transform the data for your target system.

Export Steps

1

Sign in to your Venmo account on the web

Open your browser and go to venmo.com. Click 'Sign In' and enter your Venmo credentials. Complete any two-factor authentication prompts. The web version is required because the Venmo mobile app does not provide a direct CSV download option.

Tip: Alternatively, you can access statements through the Venmo app under Settings, but the web interface gives you more control over the export format.
2

Navigate to the Statements page

Once logged in, go to the Settings section of your Venmo account. Look for the 'Statements' option in the settings menu. This section allows you to download monthly transaction statements in CSV or PDF format.

3

Select the month and year

On the Statements page, choose the month and year you want to download. Venmo provides statements on a monthly basis, so you will need to download each month separately. Statements are available going back up to three years from the current date.

Warning: Venmo only keeps statements for the last 3 years online. For older records, you will need to contact Venmo support directly.
4

Download the CSV file

Click the download link next to the month you selected and choose the CSV format. The file will be saved to your computer and contains fields like ID, Datetime, Type, Status, From, To, Amount, Note, and Funding Source.

5

Repeat for additional months if needed

If you need transaction data spanning multiple months, repeat the selection and download process for each month. Venmo does not offer a way to download multiple months in a single file through the standard interface.

Tip: For a full-year download, you can use the direct URL method: navigate to https://account.venmo.com/api/statement/download?startDate=YYYY-01-01&endDate=YYYY-12-31&csv=true, replacing YYYY with the desired year.
6

Verify and combine your statement files

Open each downloaded CSV file in a spreadsheet application. Check that the transaction dates, amounts, and counterparty names look correct. If you downloaded multiple monthly files, you can combine them into a single spreadsheet by copying the data rows (excluding duplicate headers) into one file.

Required Transactions Fields

Your Venmo export must include these fields for successful conversion.
