How to Import Export to Calendar (2026 Guide)

After converting your data with one of our tools, follow these steps to import the export into Calendar.

Import Steps

1

Locate your downloaded ICS file

Find the .ics file in your downloads folder. This is a standard iCalendar file that is compatible with virtually all calendar applications including Google Calendar, Microsoft Outlook, Apple Calendar, and many others.

2

Import to Google Calendar

Open Google Calendar in your browser. Click the gear icon to open Settings. In the left panel, click Import & Export. Click Select file from your computer and choose your .ics file. Select the destination calendar from the Add to Calendar dropdown, then click Import.

Tip: If you import the same ICS file twice, you will get duplicate events. Google Calendar does not deduplicate on import.
3

Import to Microsoft Outlook

Open Microsoft Outlook on your desktop. Go to File, then Open & Export, then Import/Export. Select Import an iCalendar (.ics) or vCalendar file and click Next. Browse to your .ics file and select it. Choose whether to open the calendar as a new calendar or import events into your existing calendar.

4

Import to Apple Calendar

On macOS, double-click the .ics file to open it in Apple Calendar. Alternatively, open Apple Calendar, go to File, then Import, and select your .ics file. Choose which calendar to add the events to and click OK. On iOS, open the .ics file from the Files app or email attachment.

5

Verify imported events

After importing, browse through your calendar to verify that all events appear with the correct dates, times, locations, and descriptions. Check that all-day events and timed events were imported correctly. Note that recurring events may import as individual one-time events depending on the source format.

Warning: Guest lists and Google Meet links from original events are not preserved in ICS imports. You will need to re-add attendees manually if needed.

Required Calendar Fields

Field Type Description Example
Subject Text Event title Team Meeting
Start Date Text Start date (MM/DD/YYYY) 01/15/2025

Calendar requires these fields for successful import.

Tip Make sure your converted file is saved and ready before starting the import. You can preview the converted data in the tool before downloading.
