How to Download OFX/QFX Files from Your Bank (2025 Guide)

Every major bank offers transaction downloads in OFX, QFX, or similar formats. This guide shows you exactly where to find the download option for popular banks and what format to choose.

Understanding Bank File Formats

Banks offer several download formats. Here's what they mean:

Chase Bank

Sign in to your Chase online banking account.

Choose your date range. Chase allows up to 7 years of history.

Chase Business Chase Business banking has the same download options. Look for "Download account activity" in your business account dashboard.

Bank of America

Most banks follow a similar pattern. Look for these terms:

  • "Download Transactions" or "Export"
  • "Quicken" or "Microsoft Money" format
  • "OFX" or "QFX" in format options

If you can't find the download option:

  1. Check the account activity or statements page
  2. Look for a gear icon or "More options" menu
  3. Search your bank's help for "download transactions"
  4. Contact your bank's support
